Pittsburgh, PA. – November 19, 2007 – ...Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced it has entered into a joint marketing and sales agreement with EDSA. The agreement involves several software products: Eaton’s Foreseer®and Power Xpert® software programs, as well as EDSA’s Paladin® Live™ power analytics platform. The Foreseer and Power Xpert products will operate with Paladin Live and be resold as part of EDSA’s power solutions.
The announcement is a follow up to a reseller agreement announced last year. Both Eaton and EDSA products have an increased degree of product integration, a higher level of functionality and far broader marketing and sales coverage.
“The combination of Eaton’s and EDSA’s technology results in one of the most powerful and truly intelligent predictive diagnostics systems ever developed for buildings,” said Mike Longman, vice president of marketing and PowerChain™ management solutions for Eaton’s electrical business. “This is the most comprehensive platform available for helping to ensure that customers’ important facilities operate at maximum performance, efficiency and environmental sensitivity. It fits very well with Eaton’s suite of PowerChain solutions that provide customers with improved reliability, safety and energy efficiency.”
“Customer receptiveness to the combined Paladin and Foreseer solution has been extremely positive,” said Adib Nasle, president of EDSA. “It’s clear from their response that working together, Eaton and EDSA have redefined state-of-the-art in mission-critical facility manageability and resilience.”
Eaton’s Foreseer and Power Xpert enterprise management systems monitor and proactively manage enterprise-wide critical infrastructure equipment, including power, environmental and life/safety devices by:
- Turning data into knowledge to help expedite decision-making
- Providing distributed, scalable architectures tailored to organizational needs.
- Delivering dependable trend analysis, forecasting, modeling and analysis tools allow for proactive management and monitoring as well as performance reports.
EDSA’s Paladin DesignBase and Paladin Live bring tremendous operation benefits to users with complex electrical power infrastructures:
- Potential electrical infrastructure problems can be “designed out” of a facility before it is constructed or modernized.
- Once the facility is constructed, the DesignBase model can be taken from “design mode” to “diagnostics mode” using Paladin Live.
- The software is able to detect variations, even those involving seemingly unrelated components.
